Here are some frequently asked questions

How long will the appointment be?

They will then carry out a full and thorough assessment to ascertain the nature of your problem and also determine any other contributing factors. This way we are not going to just treat 'the painful area' but also look at issues that may have lead to the current problem. You will also receive treatment within this first session and may be sent away with a home exercise programme that will be emailed to you, including a video for each exercise.

All follow up appointments are 30 minutes and we will monitor your progress and adapt your treatment plan as necessary. We are all very 'hands on' senior Physiotherapists and always aim to get you better in as few sessions as possible. We are very holistic in our approach and because we look at contributing factors underlying your problems, once these have been addressed your issues should be resolved. As a result of this, you should not need to return for repeated treatment for the same problem time and time again.

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions, for example muscle, joint and spinal conditions, sports injuries, orthopaedic conditions, arthritis and degenerative conditions, work related disorders, and Women’s and Men’s Health issues.

Are all staff qualified?

We are all Senior Chartered Physiotherapists and are members of the Health and Care Professions Council – HCPC.

Do I need a Doctor's referral?

We can see any patient without a Doctor's referral. However some insurance companies may insist on a referral. It is therefore advisable that you contact your insurers to check your policy requirements.

Will Physiotherapy help?

This can be answered after a detailed assessment by the Physiotherapist. In the majority of cases we can help, however, if we do not think we can help, we will inform you and if necessary refer you to your GP or the most appropriate health care professional.

Can I park at the clinic?

Yes we have free off road parking at the clinic. The car park at the Atrium is accessible via Wyncolls Road. We have allocated bays marked with Bodyworks, numbers 92-97 and there are sign posted visitors spaces. Please do NOT park in any other Business bays, thank you.

What do I need to wear?

You may be comfortable bringing shorts to change into and a vest type top. You will be asked to undress to a level that we can assess you fully. Your privacy and dignity will be maintained at all times.

What if Physiotherapy does not help?

We work very closely with many Specialist Consultants and if we feel that Physiotherapy would not help your condition, we are able to refer you on to the appropriate Consultant for further investigations. We also work closely with our Sports Massage Therapist, Tanya Matthews at Touch therapies - rehabilitate and run and her input can compliment your treatment if needed.
